I'm in the martket for a new bag, and am looking for something lite but also has a good amount of storage space. My current bag is a Nike SQ Cart Bag, and is very bulky and heavy. However, two things that I llike about it are the pocket storage space, and the 14-way dividers.

Basically, I'm looking for something that is lighter than my current bag, but still offers some good storage and club accesability. Also I would want it in red/black/white if possible to match my r11s and nike VRs.

I've been looking at the taylormade pure lite 3.0 and sun mountain bags online.

Any ideas? Let me know!

Thanks

Travis

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I just recently bought a Nike Performance Carry bag that has 14 individual dividers and plenty of storage pockets including a cooler pocket to help keep your drink cold.  Google the bag.  I'm sure you'll love it as I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Ogio has some good light carry bags.  The ozone xx and grom xx are 2 of the better bags.  The original ozone was a little small on the storage space, the newer version is a little larger.  To save space I've been putting my rain gear and wind top in vacuum bags, you would be surprised how much space that will save you.

I've got a Ping Hoofer 2012 (black) that is great....has less bells and whistles than the new Sun Mountains, but has more of a classic look and is very functional.

In the bag:

TaylorMade R11 Driver (10.5 stiff stock shaft)

TaylorMade R11 3wood (15 degree stiff stock shaft)

Adams IdeaPro 3i hybrid (20 degree)

Titleist DCI 4-PW (photo)

Cleveland CG15 wedges (52, 56, 60)

Odyssey White-Hot 2-Ball (Superstroke oversize grip)

Bushnell Tour V2 Rangefinder

If you buy a name brand, it doesn't matter. They are all going to last relatively the same lifespan. Just find one you like in what colors you like.

I bought a Callaway stand bag last year from Costco for $80 that is a terrific bag, better designed than my old Taylor Made one, which was oval in cross section, so it was almost useless on any sort of cart, plus had a really bad nylon web hand grip that was too tight to the bag.  In addition to having plenty of pockets, including a soft-lined valuables pocket and an insulated drink pocket, the Callaway is also pretty square on the bottom and on the stand-side, so you can stand it up very easily on the back of a riding cart or attach it to a pull car with no problems with it flopping sideways or not staying put properly.  Only issues with it are:  1) Not the lightest stand bag if you want to lug it; 2) no shoulder strap, just the dual backpack straps - I like a single shoulder strap for hauling it from car to clubhouse or for when I walk 9 holes and don't bother with a cart.  But I swiped the one from the Taylor Made, so I figure if I didn't mind having a Callaway or TaylorMade bag without a single Callaway or Taylor Made club in it, how much worse would it be with a Callaway bag with a TaylorMade logoed strap on it?; and 3) no full-length club dividers, which kind of sucks, since I have a magnetic grip on my putter and used to use a 1943 steel penny as a ball marker, but it kept getting knocked off the end of the putter every time it hit against the steel shafts of another club in my bag.

In my bag: - Ping G20 driver, 10.5 deg. S flex - Ping G20 3W, 15 deg., S flex - Nickent 4dx 3H, 4H - Nike Slingshot 4-PW - Adams Tom Watson 52 deg. GW - Vokey 58 deg. SW -Ping Half Wack-E putter
