Cleveland Classic Driver

I'm looking at getting the Cleveland Classic driver. I hit it at the PGA superstore and thought it felt great, but I'm still not hooked on it what do you guys think about that driver.

Went to a local golf shop on a slow day in February, and got to hit Classic vs. RBZ driver using both launch monitor and face decal. Both clubs had R-flex and 10.5* loft.

The Classic (290 gram) has a deep face to it, and felt good and kept the ball in a fairly tight group. RBZ was all over the place - might be OK if you cut 1.5" off shaft.

Classic reminds me somewhat of my favorite old deep-faced persimmon driver (which I foolishly sold in 1984).

For Classic, make sure you try all three head weights and a couple of different lofts.

I have heard this before about the Classic..

I hit the classic myself which i thought was ok, personally i think the cleveland black has a better feel to it

      Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.

      I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.

      Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
