How often do you clean your clubs? - Page 5

I have never cleaned my grips, never changed my grips and have never cleaned my clubs.  I will wipe the grips off if they're wet and I will bang my clubs on the ground or wipe them on my shoe to get excess mud or grass off.

It rained on my clubs while I was playing this past Wednesday... does that count as cleaning them?

My course has club washers on the carts.  I generally give them a wipe down or stick them in the club washer every couple of shots.  Once or twice per season I'll pull all of them out of the bag and give them a full wash.  Grips get replaced once to twice per season depending on how they are holding up.  If they ever start to feel the least bit slick to me then they are gone.

I understand this is a 'resort' town, but every one of the 100 courses in this area have "bag boys" who unload your bags from your vehicle and load them onto your carts for you. They also wipe down your clubs after the round and leave them at the bag drop area for you to load back up into your vehicle.

I understand that.  You live in a world which is far separated from what most of us live in.  Even some of the "nicer" courses I play don't have that service, yet the course itself can be anywhere from very good to spectacular.

Probably because of all of the competition with so many courses around Myrtle Beach. Most of the courses around here are the only show in town and don't do it. I'm not sure what a bag boy makes but the courses around here are hanging on by a thread for solvency as it is. I've only been to one course that had bag boys, and it was a $100 a round course.

I keep my truck in my shop. When I pull in, I put all my irons in a 5 gallon bucket of water. I go back after a hour or two and brush, rinse, and dry them. I wash my driver and woods in my shop sink. My white Ping cart bag gets wiped down once a week.

We have bag boys but they have never offered to clean my clubs. I've seen the bucket of water and brushes at the cart drop off area.

They just put them on the cart for me. A few have offered to carry them to my truck after a round but not often. I guess they need to be trained! I usually tip $2 to $5 when they greet me.
