I have had some trouble with hitting the ball too high and having really high spin rates with the driver which has resulted in  a large loss of distance. I have been told by a fitter a new shaft might help. i currently have a stock stiff shaft on a 10.5 driver.

does anyone know if this would help? and does anyone have any suggestions as to any brands of shafts that they have had good experience with or they think might help? i have been suggested for a pro force V2 but i am curious what other opinions people might have on other shafts.

Thanks

You did not specify which type stock shaft is on your driver but it could be any number of reasons for your problem besides the shaft...teeing too high ,a spinny ball or your swing itself but I'm sure some others on this site are more qualified than me to point you in the right direction.

oh its the matrix xcon-5 shaft, and i actually tee the ball up pretty low. usually i have it just about even or a bit below the top edge of the face but i have been told i should tee it up a bit higher to encourage myself to catch it more on the up swing
