Hi all,

I bought my very first set of clubs (Wilson CG1200's) in March and have been trying to get out at least once a month since then. Ive also had a lesson which has helped with my swing...although I still retain the super power of being able to slice any golf ball regardless of whether its designed not to be sliced!

But anyway, today I went around my local golf course (Brampton Park...a true hidden gem in Cambridgeshire, UK!) for a full 18 holes and lost 5 balls on the front nine BUT on the back nine, only lost 3 balls.

For me that is progress! :)

I think Im in the low hundreds/pushing the high 90's at the moment so compared to where I was back in March I think my journey towards hitting the ball down the centre of the fairway more often than not is well and truly underway.

BTW, prior to March I had only played one round of golf in the last 10 years and that was a round on the PGA course at the Belfry last September with some business partners. Carted a 129 that day too :)

Anways...this is just a long winded way of saying hello to you all.

Regards

lol...at least you have a good attitude about it!!

I can relate, I have lost 3 balls on one hole...several times!!  Does wonderful things to your score.

Cheap balls are the way to go....I never spend more than about 60 seconds looking for a ball from an errant shot.

Edit: Oh, and hello to you too

I had a sleevie yesterday! On the easiest par4 on the course! straight, no trees, but there is a road that runs down the right side only like 15 yards of rough there. I pushed it, faded it and faded it on to that dang thing! Screwed my score completely!

In my bag:

Taylormade R11S Driver
Taylormade RBZ 3-wood
Nike VRS Irons 4-9
SM4 Titleist Vokey Wedges 47, 54, 58
College freshman playing golf at Wabash College in Indiana!

In essence that's 16 penalty strokes, so unless you play the rest of your round only 12 over par(ish) there's no way you're breaking a hundred. Those rare instances that I go a round without losing a ball I am fighting the 100 line.

The easiest way to break 100 is just keep the ball in play.  If you can do that you have a pretty good shot at it.
