So simply, as soon as I make a double bogey or worse ( especially if it's early in the round ) my head goes down , I start getting mad at myself , loose concentration and shoot a bad round ( Mid to high 80s ) , but if I start off well, I stay calm and focused and usually challenge the course for par :-) , anyone give advice it would be greatly apreciated as I feel this is my main problem :~(

Whe I score a double (far too often), I tell myself that I'm going to have bogeys during the round. All that was is 2 of them. No worse. Seems simple, but it helps me.....

I've tried many ideas like splitting the course into different sections , just simply move on and forget and to focus one shot at a time but none seem to let me forget that bad hole :-\

I know what I should do...

Stop thinking about the score and just play the shot before me.

Breaking the course into chances... planning when I'm going to "get those strokes back" ... none of that can help. Just play the next shot to the best of my ability, find the ball and do it again.

I think im just desprate to break par, (+1 being my best so far ) i was like this going for my first eagle, every par 5 i hit a bad drive on i would get frustrated lmao !! one day il probably look back at this and think the same

Well, I used to be like that (very score/result oriented) but am starting to learn to just enjoy the round and not focus on the score. I try to act deliberate on every shot but only have 1 swing thought. Also realize I've posted some pretty decent despite having some bad holes.

Yesterday I shot 39 on the front with 3 bogeys and 41 on the back with a triple and two doubles along with 2 birdies. The triple I made was after a 280 yard drive down the middle sitting 50 yards from the green. I shanked my partial wedge shot which came to rest behind a tree and it spiraled out of control. I birdied the next hole though by putting the triple behind me.

Just realize that you're out there to have fun; NOT post a score. Your mind is the one thing you can definitely control out there despite how you're swinging.
