Good Morning everyone!

I can honestly say that I am becoming more frustrated as time goes by with my drive. I can hit an iron straight as an arrow, though I'm not getting any distance from them, but I can not seem to get a drive to go straight.

I'm heading out on a golf trip in 2 weeks and I don't want to be that guy on the course, I haven't seen these guys in years!

I get a pretty good shot off but it consistently shoots off to the left at the height of the drive, killing all my distance.

Did I mention that I'm left handed?

Any help you all can offer is welcomed!

grip? i don't know i've always had a problem with my driver as a right handed player. i almost feel as the if the shaft was only as long as my 7 iron it wouldnt be a problem. it feels like im swinging a dame broom some times, but try to tighten your grip a little and it sounds obvious but I've found over the years if you think too much about something you are bound to repeat it.

Is "not getting any distance" from irons new? How short is short --5-iron yardage?

Driver starts left and is straight left or starts left and goes more left? What height? High? Low?

Years ago, on my first big deal buddy trip, I hit only 5-irons off the tee for the week because I was so wild with my woods. I won the 16 guy event and while I was shorter off the tee, I was on the course and with my 25 handicap, I was competitive. And I had more fun than banging the ball and hunting for it all day.

You've got two weeks to figure out what to do.

I was really hoping this thread was about the lack of pizza available at the club house or snack bar. I get tired of hot dogs and a nice piece of pepperoni would be nice every once and a while.

To OP: Swing softer, close the face, strengthen grip or check one of the other 100 "Fix my slice threads"

Concentrate on your swing path.  You have to come from the inside to cure a slice.  Take some continuous practice swings without a ball, and just concentrate on getting your path moving in to out at the bottom of the swing.  You'll eventually get the feel of what a draw swing is, then you just have to take that feeling to the range and hit some balls.  Easy right?

Honestly though, knowing the ball flight laws goes a long way to diagnosing errant shots.  Once you know why a shot slices, hooks, pushes or pulls it makes correcting that problem much easier.
