I've been Playing Golf for: 10+ years, but seriously for the past 6 months

My current handicap index or average score is: 15

My typical ball flight is: High ball flight. Fade my low (P, 9, 8...) irons and draw my highers irons. Don't know why.

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: The pull hook. When I used to slice I corrected it by using my hands a lot. Now that I've corrected my slice with a better swing sometimes I still get too handsy.

One word

FLAT

Freeze frame you at top of swing

Now draw a line from end of club to ground straight down

That line is almost behind your but, your hands are supposed to be over your right shoulder and not the back of your butt

Ok impact position, so the flat swing will produce what you say

Push fades and sometimes pulls and pull hooks

So just change the swing plane until you see your hands over your right shoulder and almost behind your butt

Your ball flight will go way higher and your should hit more of a straight draw as soon as you get on a more upright plane

Then you won't have a fast upwards movement right after impact either, you'll be following down the line more the more upright your swing gets

FLAT

That simple

Thanks for the replies. Is the position of my club at the top of swing that detrimental to the rest of my swing? Ricky Fowler seems to go even further outside than I do. Then again maybe he just has a very unique swing and not one you'd try and mimic.

After seeing my swing and comparing it to others it seem as though I have a lot of knee bend at address and the ball is further away from me which causes me to bend over more at the waist. Does anyone else notice this and are either of these a problem?

Thanks.

Yes there are some set-up issues but I think it's important to take it one step at a time and focus on the priority piece.

I've made some adjustments since the first post. How does it look now?

One thing I've noticed is that my right foot gets up on my toe before impact. Is this a major problem that needs to be fixed? Any drills that you guys have used that work? Also, my follow through just looks funny to me, not fluid. I can't tell if I'm doing anything wrong, just doesn't look right. Any other thoughts or suggestions are much appreciated.

In these vids I hit the ball really well. I think only one fade, and one low liner.

Definitely need to keep working on the foot work.

That is exactly what Mike mvmac is talking about.  Use the pictures he posted above. ^

Basically what is happening is your extension is way to soon and that gives you the "non fluid" look.  If you clean up some pieces in the down swing, that will change the look of the follow through.  I promise .

Put a chair or stick behind you at address and from the top of your swing have your left hip bump into the chair.  Also, keep practicing the banking drills Mike advised above.

Yes like Stephan said, check out his drill and refer to my earlier post http://thesandtrap.com/t/62070/my-swing-ttaggart#post_767669
