I would be surprised if he feels any of the things you mentioned. With the way his back swing works, he'll have to "clear" his hips more aggressively than most. I would say when these guys are playing they have very few to zero swing thoughts. All that work is done on the range on off weeks or earlier in the week.
Well I don't think there's any tour player who is going to keep hitting hooks (or blocks) or thin or fat "misses" during a competitive round and then not think about what he did wrong on that swing. We've all seen them immediately make a rehearsal swing and even look at their position at the top etc.. I'm sure there are "cerebral" golfers (Tiger Woods comes to mind with his talk of knowing what his fixes are) and there are more feel oriented golfers who don't "think" their way out of mishits but rather "feel" their way out of them. Maybe a combination of both. I'm a golfer who has had to overcome some poor fundamentals that I used as a junior and it has taken a lot of thought and reading and trial and error and evolution to become a more consistent ball striker. I enjoy making minor adjustments (tweaking) to my grip or stance or alignment (slightly open for fades, slightly closed for draws) while I'm playing. I don't understand the golfer who will keep making the same swing over and over when he is struggling out on the course and follow the popular advice that you shouldn't work on your game while you're out on the course and you should save it for the range. I hate driving ranges. I don't go near them. I enjoy making the fixes out on the golf course and thinking about them. But then again I am a "thinker." Not everyone is.
