Hello all, please allow me to use this to vent and would enjoy some advice. I'll keep it condensed for viewing pleasure.

-Started playing 3 years ago, started taking the game seriously this year.

-I have had no formal instruction and have just taught myself through videos and the great information on this website.

-I have gotten down to a 8.9 index and hit a wall.

-Wanted to take up S&T this year, got the book, and realized it's not something I can just go out and try.

-Learned I can flip my way around a golf course but the inconsistency is killing me

-Have seen a dramatic loss in distance after trying to make a hundred different changes in my swing.

-Getting tired of being the shortest hitting in my group.

Now, where do I go from here?

I work at an elementary school and have a gym to my disposal. I plan on getting myself a nice casio camera and tripod for christmas. I was thinking about signing up for Evolvr since I will have the space and equipment to properly film my swing.

Do I sign up for Evolvr or wait until next season and see someone in person? I know Evolvr would be the economical decision, however I feel like I would need hands on instruction.

I guess I am just looking for the reassurance that lessons could be the best thing for my game.

Thanks for your time.

Personally, if I were trying to learn a new swing, I would much rather take lessons and have someone who is an expert on that particular swing film me, analyze me and teach me versus trying to film myself and what not. So my recommendation is to find a teacher who uses S&T and go take some lessons. Who knows, even while sparking up conversation, he might give you some valuable advice. I know mine did.

Well I would send my videos into Evolvr. I guess I won't know how it is until I try it.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
