I am just curious as to what people think about having multiple brands.  I am sure this has been posted in the past, so if it has my apologies.

Currently, I have

Driver/3 Wood:Taylormade

Irons: Callaway

Wedges: Cleveland

Putter: Odyssey

Hat: My favorite is a Titleist

Some people snicker at me for having such a variety of brands but these are what felt best to me.  How do you guys feel?

Let's see, you have the most popular brand of woods, a great brand of irons, probably (possibly) the most storied brand of wedges, and one of the top 3 brands of putters in recent years, and people snicker at you? Who are these people?

I didn't say they were the smartest people in the world lol.  I obviously don't have a problem with it.  I think people should play what they like best.  But there are always people that are quirky in their own little way.

Ask the people who "snicker" at you why they play all the same brand of clubs.  Are they paid by Titleist/Nike/Callaway to play only their clubs?  To me, it would seem odd that a non-pro would only play one brand.

Play what works for you, at a price you want to pay.

I think your infidelity to one brand is shameful and a disgrace to the game of golf.  You, sir, are a despicable club sl*t.  The doors to golf heaven are shut to a lowlife like you.

In my bag: - Ping G20 driver, 10.5 deg. S flex - Ping G20 3W, 15 deg., S flex - Nickent 4dx 3H, 4H - Nike Slingshot 4-PW - Adams Tom Watson 52 deg. GW - Vokey 58 deg. SW -Ping Half Wack-E putter

I play what works for me. I've experimented with trying matching clubs and found it difficult. Though my experience is if I find something I like the clubs closest to that typically work as well, 3w and hybrids are similar enough etc. I tend to break it down into driver, fairway clubs, irons, wedges and putter. The only thing I've been on the fence with is whether to swap the matching PW with a wedge that matches the wedges.

I wonder what golf hell would be like..    No golf at all?   Or constant 6 hour rounds of golf in the rain and you constantly shoot 110?

Let's see...  one driver but three shafts from two different companies, three hybrids from two different companies, irons from one manufacturer, wedges from another, two different brand name  putters, and another brand of golf ball.  Yep, I'm the antithesis of brand loyalty.  Too bad that last time out I could only hit the driver, two hybrids, one wedge, and the putter worth a damn.  Oh, and a a couple of hats with clubmaker's logos from whom I don't own any clubs.

Where the hell do you play where anyone cares about your clubs? I play at a private club and rarely see anyone care about what someone is playing. The only time I see comments made is when there is obviously a new club in the bag. Last week everyone in my normal group had to try my long putter, other than that, I have never heard a comment. You may be a bit paranoid.......

Pretty presumptuous to declare me a bit paranoid considering you don't know any of the circumstances.  I'll leave it at that as this was meant as a fun type post to see if others had brand loyal friends/playing partners as I do.

No, I use whatever feels the best for me.  I try to go Titleist first, but if that doesn't work then I'll look at other brands.

Titleist 913D2 9.5 (UST VTS 65)

Titleist 913F 15 (Diamana S+)

Titleist 913H 19 (Diamana S+)

Titleist 714 AP2 (4-PW) (DG XP-95)

Titleist Vokey SM5 (52,56,58) (DG XP-95)

Ping Anser 2 Classic

My bag is mixed to the limit. Even the sandwedge and lobwedge differ in brand. I used to play a bagfull of Pings. But no Ping in the bag anymore. The mix is:

- Driver and putter Titleist

- 3 wood Callaway

- hybrids Tailormade

- Irons McGregor

- sandwedge Snake Eyes

- lobwedge Mizuno

For me, it is Titleist driver,60 degree wedge, irons, putter (scotty), 2 Nickent hybrids and 2 Cleveland Niblicks. My normal group consists of Ping guy, Callaway guy and Taylormade guy although I dont think any of them have more than 10 clubs from the same manufacturer.

Same for me, except the Titleist part! I'll play what ever I think works best for me. I do tend to play the same brand wedges as irons, however.
