After a couple years of fighting an occasionaly shank shot with short or mid irons, I have FINALLY found some real solutions. Two things seem to work. One, I am gripping the club with my left hand rotated about 1/4" clockwise from what I had before. Two, I am standing away from the ball at least one, maybe two-three inches further away than I was before. I have not hit a shank on the range or the course since I have made these changes. Just sharing. Hope it helps someone who reads this. Have fun. JT, CA cent. coast.
