I live in las vegas and would like to take a trip to L.A to see the new look lakers play at staples center, especially  to see kobe play in person one more time. Anyhow, long story short I'm thinking of going In the middle of January on a Sunday night and getting a hotel near by.The next day before I drive home I'd like to get a round in, so my question is. where would a nice affordable course near staples center be ? If not near staples center where could I pull over and get around of golf in that is on my way home ? I'd prefer to leave my hotel and drive for about an hour from downtown towards l.v then stop to play.

I'm looking to spend less than 60 bucks for a tee time (around 10 or 11 am)

I really don't know the area so some suggestion would be appreciated.

Rustic Canyon was my first thought but it's not at all in line with the OP's plans. It's at least 90 minutes in the wrong direction from downtown LA. My suggestion would be either of the courses at Industry Hills in City of Industry off of the 60 Freeway. There are also some nice courses out in Riverside. It's about $80.00 during the week to play the Eisenhower course.

If you are driving from Las Vegas to LA, then I would pick one of the following - either of these courses could be played on your way back toward Las Vegas:

1.) Goose Creek Golf Club

2.) Oak Quarry

http://www.oakquarry.com/

Both courses are well maintained and affordable.

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
