Might be before your time, but Linda Ronstadt's "What's New?" was a great album of American standards.  Great voice.  Check it out.  Also, Ronstadt used to be really cute in her day.

I jus listened to some of the songs from it off Youtube. Really beautiful performances! Thanks for the tip, Harmonious. The genre is before my time of course, but I wish this type of music was the norm in bars and clubs. Its a shame that it's not.
