I started playing golf after an almost 20 year layoff back in 2010. I went to the range and hit my old driver, a Yonex ADX 300, and it seemed to launch way too high. I decided to upgrade and I wanted a club with a very low loft. I went to ebay and bought an Adams long drive head because I couldn't find anything in stores with a super low loft. The loft is 6.5 degrees. I had a stiff shaft put in at golf galaxy.
My question is: Does the long drive head take away distance? I think I remember someone saying the faces were thicker and gave less, because the long drivers would destroy them otherwise. I hit the driver pretty good, but I am definitely not a long driver. My swing speed is between 105-110. I can carry it about 265-270. I just want to know if I can get more distance from a traditional head. Also, the launch angle seems to be fine with a good high launch.
