New Golf Tee

Thread Starter 

I am currently designing a new golf tee that will be more stable and prevent tip overs while teeing off. Also, the tee will be user friendly as we are designing it so that the ball is less likely to fall off the tee. We are trying to justify the this problem, so if anyone could take this survey  it would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't know there were current issues with golf balls falling off of tees now?

I've never had a problem w/ the Wal-Mart tee's that are $3.99 for a bag of 200. I do want to try the brush tee and maybe see how that works.

Some of the tallest plastic tees have only 3 apex points upon which sits our noble ball. If the tee is  tilted or off center slightly the ball is unstable and i have seen a few drop off such a  tee.  I prefer non-plastic tees and if i could figure out how to make a bamboo golf tee easily and cheaply i would be marketing that here in Asia. If you consider for a moment traditional wooden tees and how they might be made i believe the maker starts with a rectangular block of wood and carves away the excess. You can see that perhaps half the wood is actually wasted in the carving.  Each tee, one by one. What a chore.

There are plenty of bamboo tees available out there.....

Probably not going to get any love from the environmental types, but I love the stepped blue and yellow tees.just push into the ground and it tees up the same hight every time.

I have never used those tee's but I do like the idea of consistency when teeing up your ball. I pretty much tee mine the same but I know its not exact every time but I would like to try these tees.

In 40 years, I don't think I've ever had a ball "fall off" of a tee.....

There my favorite type. I tried a long white type today, it looked like it had about 4 or 5 tiny knobs on it, it was fine but I needed to mark it to get the same height every time

Those are the ones i normally use. Long white tees that aren't the best shape but they work for me. Like you said i need to mark them to tee the same height every time though.
