Anyone know where I can get a camera that does a good job filming my swing for around $300 tops? I plan on using it in my garage a lot which has dim but not awful lighting, so that's important. Also, I don't have a Mac so I can't use the Analyzr tool everyone in here seems to praise, so is V1 golf (the student version that I think is $39.99) worth buying?

Any help would be great. Thanks!

There are a number of Casio cameras that shoot high speed video that you can find for that price. The thing with high speed, however, is that it does require a lot of light to be decent. If you have dim lighting, you may want to get one of the higher end ones so you can control the shutter speed.

As far as V1 goes, I can't really say. Before Analyzr came out, I tried the free version and I found it fairly difficult to use and it wasn't something that I would have paid for... maybe your experience will be different. Also, I know somebody had mentioned a similar type program (allows you to draw lines, angles, etc.) that is free... If I can find it I'll post it here.

I have used Kinovea (free) after seeing a post for it here. I'm only just starting to get into my own swing analysis so have only used the most basic of functions that show if I'm keeping my head still etc. It works at that level but I haven't tried any of the other programs to know what it may be missing.

Whichever way you go, be sure to get a high speed camera. Even if it means going over your budget. If you go cheap and you use it often enough you will regret your decision.

Thanks, interesting software. Works good. You can also try V1 software for free.

Casio HIgh speed seemed to be the preferred cameras from most golfers I've spoken to....EX-ZR100 can do up to 1000 frames/sec

At a very small resolution, yes. 240 is the sweet spot on the Casios. Which is plenty fast enough. 120 is good too.

Read all the comments, all. Thanks. I found a Casio EX-ZR300 for $319 in 5 seconds after a Google Search. That'll work.
