Hello everyone, I'm new to the site, sort of not really, I have been reading new/old threads and familiarizing myself along with answering questions just by searching old posts. Very good information if you do a little research on this site- then i see people who ask and say some... let's just say they can do a little better.

Soooo been playing golf for a few years on and off, in particular this year more than ever, hit some awesome scores, lowest being an 81, with many in the 80's, if its a new course, I will generally hit a mid 90 (partly due to putting cause I dont read the breaks on the greens well in new places )

So I am on the verge on buying a new iron set.. I have some old cavity back wilson that was a starter set and i have definitely out grown it. I read alot about blades vs. cavity and frankly.. as long as you hit ball first and smooth swing.. whats the difference? personal opinion, I have hit both.

My buddy has a "KZG" forged blade set.. I know he'd sell them to me for cheap since he has a new set, so I was also looking into the "rocketbladez" or the R11s irons, I CANNOT stand a big head on the top of my irons anymore...

not sure the model? ...Opinions...

Buy the set from my buddy? which is a used set.. or... buy a brand new set?

Thanks for reading all my talk... its my first thread

Welcome to the site!!! I'm new here as we'll and there is a great wealth of knowledge on the forum. There is a substantial difference between blades and cavity back irons to me. You'll gain workability and accuracy with a blade vs distance and forgiveness with the cavitys. You have to judge yourself as a player and see what direction to take. As for your buddy's irons. Hit them and then go demo some new clubs. See what you like better and compare the price difference. Do your buddy's clubs match up for you as far as lie angle and shaft type?

Taylormade 425 R7 Driver- Tour stiff Cobra AMP 3 wood- Stiff Titleist 704 CB irons 2-PW Cleveland 588 wedges- 56 and 60 Ping Pick Em Up- belly putter Taylormade Penta 5 balls

Thanks bro... yeah there is alot of knowledge- and I dont mind going back through old threads either, I learned alot more than I thought I would have. I def agree with workability and accuracy, I just feel with cavity's its such a heavy block I am swinging through- not sure how I really feel about it. I have not yet played 18 with blades though, only range.. so I cannot say for sure. I should try out some different clubs then huh? it sucks tho, cause at Dick's they take you in the back area and you swing on a mat in this super small room and expect to judge me accuractly for fittings/speed/ect.. lil lost in finding whats best to be honest.
