Does anyone have information or thoughts on the feel of a putter when it comes to firm or soft? I currently have a putter that has a soft feel and I like it. I have tried putters at stores with a firm feel and I didn't prefer it. Are there benefit's/limitations to both of these or does this just come down to personal preference? Do the better putters on the tour favor one over the other? I tried the Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #5 (with the charcoal mist finish) and I didn't really like it because it felt more like a firmer feeling putter. Do all of the Circa 62's and Newports have a firm feel?

I think that is enough questions for one thread

I think a lot of the feel comes from the combination of ball and putter. I prefer the soft ball and hard putter combo. Right now I'm playing a Bettinardi BB 8 and Nike platinum and it's a good combo for me. Where in IL?

I have an Odyssey XG #1 putter and it is supposed to have a soft feel, but I rarely feel it for whatever reason. When I do though, I prefer using a soft putter and hard ball, I suppose it's just a personal preference.

I have a Circa 62 #3 Charcoal Mist and while it's not exactly soft by any stretch of the imagination it definitely feels buttery when you are in a groove.

I prefer something slightly firmer so that when I miss putts I know why I missed (Did I push it or did it not break as much as I thought?) becuase it makes it far easier to get your round back on track.
