What do I need to work on to get over the "hump"?

 My 2012 season statistics were:

 Average Score                         74.25

 Average Score to Par              +3.25

Greens in Regulation                  54%

Fairways Hit                                71%

Putts per Hole                             1.64

Putts per Round                        29.50

Sand Saves                                 50%

Up and Downs                             59%

I want to lower my average score by about 3 strokes and break 70 a few times in 2013. What do you guys think I need to concentrate the majority of my practice time on in order to achieve those goals? I feel like I had a good year but man it seems like there is always that one slip up that costs me the difference in a 69 and a 72 or I miss one or two putts that should be made. What does my strengths/weaknesses appear to be?

I feel like its more mental and managing a round than anything else.

ANY input is greatly appreciated!

Everything looks very good, except for GIR. You average under 10 per round. Get that up over 11 and the low scores will come.

Quick tidbit in Golf Digest this month about GIR and its relation to scoring. It's based on stats from average golfers.

If you hit 3 greens - you should break 90
If you hit 8 greens - you should break 80
If you hit 13 greens - you should break 70

Work on getting that GIR up.

Congrats on some solid scoring. But, as noted above, it looks like it is mid-iron practice for you if you are hitting 71% of your fairways, but not having similar GIR.

A bit off target, but I wonder, are you shaping the ball a lot for your approaches to the green?

My miss is usually coming up short of the green on a front pin or a push to the right.
