On the final hole of the tourney, par 5 with a pond in front of the green and stadium seats behind Sterne,, in the last group,  hit his 2nd shot onto the stadium. The ball bounced off, rolled onto the green, over the green and came to rest on a rock ledge next to the water's edge. I saw no painted lines on the turf but had to assume the rock ledge was within the hazard. The next i saw was Sterne on the green, far from the ledge, putting for birdie. I had no TV voice feed so had no idea of commentary but i missed no visual coverage.  Can anyone find out what happened there?

Based on this (from Europeantour site), nothing out of ordinary:

Quote:
Sterne, going in two, cannoned of the hospitality at the back of the green and almost, almost into the water in front of the green. It stops just short, though, and he chips to the back of the green with his third.

Yeah, that\'s the story. From what i saw on the live TV the ball was sitting on the rocks just below/behind a ledge of turf.  Of course the TV angle obscured my vision so i could not see any way out. So even sacrificing a club face off the rock to gain a stroke is hardly considered  on the final hole and the stroke might be worth $$$.  So, good chip  esp avoiding the water.
