Help Choosing New Driver!

Thread Starter

Hi I am looking to get a new driver as have had my Cobra L5v for a few years now. I drive it about 220 yards with a slight fade so am looking for a longer and straighter driver to lower my handicap. My budget is around £150. Thanks for any replies!

I don't know what 150 is in American dollars but ill say this normally where people post what driver is the best because that is what they are playing. I will give you a couple drivers that are a year old and great.
-Cleveland 290(460cc) or 310(440cc) if you can find one with an upgraded shaft this is a top notch driver
-Adams Fast 12 LS, stock Fubuki or a Black tie and they are the real deal not made for, need I say more
-Cobra ZL Encore this is the driver I play and it's a few years old but I still think its the best driver out there, plus a stock real deal Motore is a bonus

Those 3 all have real deal, (Classic 310 is a Kullusa 61)not made for shafts which is always a plus

Since your price point is a little lower I presume, I think getting an older model used off eBay would work great for you.  I like the Nike VR_Pro Limited Edition.

If you think Nike makes bad drivers, and want to stay with Cobra.  The first model of the Cobra AMP is cheap, and honestly a great driver with adjustability.

Cobra AMP is a great deal right now on ebay new $130-$150 new. I have had both the adjustable and the offset that I play now. I can tell you that no matter how i hit the ball I am in play 9 out 0f 10 times. I do not hit it far 260 maybe 280 plus with roll if I get lucky and nut it  but what it has done is keep me out of the trees and in the fairways.

It may not be the longest driver on the market but there are a few on this site that use them, all seem very happy with the performace and price..
