You've probably seen these awesome grips in this thread , and now I'm happy to announce that you've got a chance to get your own 5SK custom PURE Grips!

Available Grips: Pure Pro , P2 Wrap , Midsize Wrap , Undersize Pro

Available Colors: 10 Colors (Yellow not shown, but available)
Quantities: These are 13-grip sets (a full set of clubs)

All purchases from this pre-order will have white "5SK" logos (except the white grips, which will have black). We are not making a profit on this, but will happily organize the volume purchase. The grips will be shipped to me, and I'll redistribute them.

All purchases of a 13-grip set will include an installation gun (seen at right) for super-easy installation.

A: To order, post below with this information:

1) Model* of grip you want.

2) Color of grip you want.

* Note that some are available in .580 core and some are in the far more popular 0.600 core. If you do not specify, we will assume 0.600.

B: After posting, send a PayPal payment of $105 to erik@thesandtrap.com. Include your TST username in the notes field.

This is a $155 value (not counting the added value for the custom order). If you already own a gun, I'm sorry, but your cost is the same (PURE is basically giving you a free gun so that you realize how simple installation is).

If you'd like two or more sets, add $105 if you'd like the gun or $75 for each additional set without the gun. These grips would make really nice presents for your father, brother, friend, etc.

These PURE Grips come with the same 1-year guarantee as their other non-custom grips - if they ever wear out in that year, they'll replace them free. Not that they'll wear out within a year, folks - I hit a lot of balls and my 6-iron grip is as good as new despite being pretty old.

If you want to make other arrangements (i.e. you don't have PayPal or a credit card, or you live outside of the United States), PM me.

This offer (this pre-purchase) CLOSES ON MARCH 15, 2013 . Get your orders in NOW, please. Grips should be in your hands by the Masters (and ideally before the end of March).

Also, I can't promise anything, but I'm looking to include a small "extra" for each of you when I get the grips here and mail them out to you.

To recap, the directions are:

1) Post your choice of grips here (model, color)

2) Send the appropriate amount of cash via PayPal.

3) This closes March 15, 2013.

If you're looking for a great air compressor, here's the one I have and it works great for just $99 . Additionally it's great to use around the house for other things - inflating soccer balls, car or bike tires, etc.

They come in sets of 13. I'm assuming maybe you saw the picture and assumed they came in groups of eight, but I'll make that more clear in the first post - 13 grips.

For Canada, add $20 to each order for the extra shipping costs. And when you PayPal, make it USD please (even though the rates are pretty 1:1 right now).

They didn't list it as available, but I can ask. If I don't respond, assume the answer is no. You can get the Pro and put a wrap of tape on beneath it you know... that will do it. Just masking tape, not double-sided tape. It works really well.

Okay, thanks.  I didn't know if the tape would create problems with getting the grip on.  I'd prefer the Mid but if not I'll do as you suggest.

Erik, what would you recommend for going gloveless? 7" middle finger tip to base of palm. I have never used a wrap style grip but I might like the softer feel if I go gloveless.

You probably won't go midsize! :) My hand measurement is 8" and I use a pretty standard sized grip. You could go standard and just stretch 'em a little, or go with the undersize and worst case add a layer of masking tape (single sided, not double).

If you want softer, http://www.puregrips.com/grips/view/p2_wrap is the way to go then.

I've used the P2 wrap and if you are looking for a softer feel, it definitely is the way to go.

OK I would like to go with:

P2 Wrap

.600

White.

I will send payment shortly.

I run a body shop, so I might know where to find an air compressor.

    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
    • I would never do the extended warranty on the $50 slow cooker.  I also routinely reject the extended service plans on those toys we buy for the grand-kids.  I do consider them on higher cost items and will be more likely to get one if the product has a lot of "Electronic Tech" that is often the problem longer-term.  I also consider my intended length of ownership & usage.  If my thought is it would get replaced in 2-3 years then why bother but if I hope to use it for 10 years then more likely to get the extension. I did buy out a lease about a year ago.  Just prior to the lease end date the tablet locked up and would not function.  I got it repaired under the initial warranty and would not have bought it out if they had not been able to fix it since IMO once electronic issues start in a car they can be hard to track down & fix.  They did fix it but when I bought out the lease I paid up for the extended warranty the would cover electronic failures because my intent is to keep that car for another 8-10 years and I just do not trust the electronics to last.  Last week the touch screen went black and was unresponsive.  It reset on the 2nd time I restarted the car but that is exactly how the last malfunction started.  I fully expect to have a claim on that on repair under the extended warranty.  I do not recall the exact cost to fix last time since I did not pay it but I think it was @ $700-$800 and I suspect that will be higher next time.
    • Have you looked at Model Local Rule F-9 Relief from Tree Roots in or Close to Fairway?  You could extend this to cover exposed rocks.  The rule is recommended to be used only for areas relatively near the fairway, a player who hits a shot 20 yards in the woods doesn't really deserve relief.   Players can always take Unplayable Ball relief, they're not required to play it from a rock or a root.  Of course, they hate to take the penalty stroke too.
