Mizuno MP-H4 vs. Rocketbladez

Wow folks I just cannot decide. I am a mid-handicapper and have tried out a ton of irons. Really love the forged feel of the Mizunos and really like the help of the 3-6 irons. But I love the distance and accuracy of the Bladez. And let's face it, the price of the TM's is an advantage vs. Mizuno too.

 

Anyone have experience with comparing these irons? Anyone with any feedback? Tried both and like both. Cannot make up my mind. And to muddy the waters even more, the MP-59's and 712 AP-2's also look good. Any advice here would be a huge help. Thanks.

I thought that they were great clubs. I haven't had too much experience with the RocketBladez besides just hitting them in the store. They are nice clubs as well. You will get more distance with the RocketBladez as they have stronger lofts (the 6 iron in the RocketBladez has a stronger loft than the MP-H4 5 iron) and on top of that the stock shaft is considerably lighter. That being said, it's going to be hard to beat the feel you'll get with the Mizuno clubs, but as you said they come at a premium. You really can't go wrong with either set.

I own Mizuno JPX 825 and MP-59. Have not tried the Bladez but hear about them a lot.

 

My humble advice is that if you are serious about improving your game, go with the Mizuno. I think they will serve you well as you lower your handicap. The Mizuno MP H4 have less offset than the Bladez.

Thanks arturo. I do like Mizuno. What are your thoughts on the MP-59's? Are they ok for a mid-handicapper or do they focus more on the better players?

They'd be ok for a mid-capper in my opinion, but the H4's would be better than that. The 59's are recommended for 0-12 hcp whereas the H4's are aimed at 2-14 hcp.

 

The JPX series, both the 825 and 825 pro (or even the 800 series) is worth a look as well. I think the 825 pros look really good.

I tried them out too. I did like the 825 pros. But I wasn't getting the feel of the other Mizunos. Not sure why. I tried out the Rocketbladez tour iron too and liked the look of it but it wasn't quite as good on distance.

 

This decision is harder than I thought it would be z7_no.gif

ok my nephew, who fancies himself quit the golfer, says I should go with Rocketbladez because I am "inconsistent". Well, no shit. I'm a 15 handicap for shit sake.

 

I just want to make sure the next set I get is a set I can grow into and keep for the next 4-5 years.

I hit my Mizuno MP 59 pretty well, and I am not a great ball hitter. Therefore I think they are forgiving enough for a mid handicap player.

 

I'm going to pass them on to my son because the Dynamic Gold S300 shaft is a bit too heavy and stiff for my game. I'm 55 and prefer regular flex shafts.

 

I must say the MP 59 are the most beautiful clubs I've seen in my life.

 

The JPX 825 are also very beautiful, but they feel too hard off the face for my taste. They are very accurate though. I hit my best shots and my best score ever (78) with them a couple of weeks ago.

Agreed on the 825 comment. Liked them a lot but felt hard off the face vs. other Mizuno's.

 

I have no idea what I'm going to do. Part of me wants to conform. Do what all the cool kids are doing and get the Rocketbladez. But a big part of me wants a set of Mizuno's. Love the buttery feel of the forged. Yeah, I know...the cast clubs have come a long way and the feel is closer now. And the Bladez go a mile. I know. But man, those 59's and those MP-h4's sure are perty.

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to go with the MP-59. Only I'm going with a brand new set of 4-PW. I will leave out the 3 and continue to use my Titleist 910H. So I saved a little money on the set which was good.
