All I've done for recreation (besides a little bowling)..over the past week is to clear 1 foot of snow from my driveway last week................and then do it again 5 days later!!!!

This is the world I live in......I took this pic after the 1st storm last week.

This snow is WAAAY too deep for snow golf!  LOL..........colored balls won't help in 2 feet of snow!!  Walking the course would be an arduous journey...INDEED!!.........bring snowshoes!

That gives me flashbacks to the snow we got in maryland a few years ago but unlike you I don't own a snow blower.

......we had 3 major snow storms during the 2010-2011 winter.   That was the straw that broke the camels/my back.  After shoveling my 3-car wide driveway too many times that year, I said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!  I said to myself, I am never doing THAAAT EVER AGAIN!!  I went online and bought one.(stores at the time were sold out/of course!)   Of course, my wife complained because winter was nearly over when I ordered it.   She said I was silly to order it that late in the year.  (blablabla)...... I told her not to worry her pretty head because I'm just preparing for the future!!   Of course..........it barely snowed the next year/last winter(2011-1012) Snowfall last winter was nearly non-existent...LOL  I told my wife she had me to thank for no snow!   It didn't snow because I bought a snow blower!!  All thanks belong to me..........

It paid off big  this year as far as I am concerned.   The snow storms came heavy and deep this winter,  and the most recent storm yesterday was INSANE HEAVY!!  There is no freeeking way in hell I'd want to shovel what we got yesterday.   It would be like shoveling wet cement 1 foot deep.......

I guess it depends if you rent or own......

If you rent, somebody else is responsible to clear the snow.....If you own, it's all on you!!  I couldn't Imagine living in WISKY and shoveling.........my 2 cents.    Hell....I live in Kansas City where it snows very little by comparison.........but I want a machine for when it does!

Official snowfall last winter was 3.9 inches............LOL

dont want to sound like a jerk on this (as some have indicated LOL) we need that type of moisture in the mid to upper cental states to increase the water flow in the mississippi river. they cant barge or ship anything because of low water in the river. sorry for your inconvinece, on a lighter note i have a tee time suday at 8 am (just adding a little salt to the wound) i moved from east ohio 30 yrs ago in 76 77 78 we had copious amounts of snow each year some where around 3 ft or more lots of snow days from school

Everyone has problems.  Here in Hawaii I have to vacuum the sand out of my car every couple of weeks.

It's really a pain to get those little grains out, especially where the seat belts connect to the floor. It is a real problem.

I seriously feel for you BuckeyeNut. But deep down, I know you got a little satisfaction knowing that you once again get to be right about the snow blower. When it starting snowing you were probably rooting for more, just so your wife could acknowledge the brilliance in the man she married. Am I at least a little right?

i fondly remember the epic blizzard in the mid-90's in central PA ... dumped 4' of snow in one night.    Roofs collapsing everywhere in industrial buildings.      State of emergency - couldn't even drive to the store.     Good times.

Miss last winter here - played golf all the way through - it was cold, but no snow at all ... this winter SUCKS !       Thank God for simulator golf ...

I've been bowling a lot this winter!  My game on the hardwood has improved thanks to the cold.  I've only been bowling 1yr.....and this is a random score sheet that just happens to include a 279. ...not bad for a noob.

At least I've got that working for me. LOL

Sincerely,

Carl Spackler

I live in Minnesota...don't even get me started on the snow. We finally got a snowblower a couple winters ago, don't know how we ever got along without it.

Man you brought back some memories there I grew up near Bucknell University and if I remember correctly there was 2 blizzards one in 93 and another 96. The one in 96 was brutal I remember my dad waking me up in the middle of the night to shovel so we could stay a head of the storm. I was in 8th grade and we had something like 12 or 14 days off of school so the state ended up not forcing us to make all the days up. I'm fairly certain we were barely able to play golf by mid April and the course was way behind on maintenance.
