So what does Rory have to do in Texas to regain #1? Will he even make the cut?

Curious myself.

Personally, I seem to remember this being a bigger issue right after he came back to competitive golf. He didn´t play very well at first, but they spent a lot of coverage on his game. As things have started to normalize, I don´t feel any excessive TV-time for Tiger. At least not more than you would expect for someone like him.

I couldn't agree more.  They all get the same treatment when the leader is in the final pairing.  What else are they going to do?  Show the other golfers sitting in the clubhouse.  It's was same for Phil when he won from the final group in Phoenix and it was the same when Kevin Streelman won last week.

A win will do it. Not sure about other finishes.

Well, I guess if Rory wins this week in Houston, then my prediction could still be correct.

The real bug bear is the example of the Masters that Cabrera won, all we saw all afternoon was Woods and Lefty as they charged up the leader board then faded backwards.

All of a sudden Campbell is leader in the club house and on his way to the playoff and I'm thinking how the **** did that happen?

Unless Rory, or someone else in the Top 10 OWGR, starts winning again, TW is going to be holding on to that no 1 spot for quite a while longer. Tiger and Rory have made quite a gap there up top...

Next gate on Tiger's journey back to total tour domination:  his lead in OWGR is greater than anyone else who has held the #1 spot since 2009.  Has he already hit that mark?

Yeah.. But just ruins the experience for anyone who wants to see some golf rather than him? Sometimes the coverage would rather show him strolling down the fairway eating a chocolate rather than someone line up an actual shot?

Hope you finally got your money's worth on Sunday at the Players.  d2_doh.gif

He needs to leave it alone and just do tuneups for the next 15 years.

On top of this, McIlroy is gonna lose the points he won for his 2011 US Open win soon. While because Tiger gained pretty much no points in 2011, nothing's stopping him from stretching his lead further.

You say that as if Rory will never win another tournament. Were we not just having this conversation about TW "being back". Have we not learned our lesson about this? Good golfers win tourneys and who is to say that he won't win a few times before the US Open.

He could, but as far as we can tell he's playing the same schedule Tiger Woods is, and he's not playing at that same level right now.  It's not unlikely for him to win a tourney, it just doesn't seem like something we can expect out of him right now.
