What shafts should i get

are your woods new or are they a few years old? honestly, the way they come out with new equipment every year, if your  stuff is more than a few years old id recommend just going out and buying new woods. you can get last year's models are a reduced rate. its going to cost you probably around $100 per wood (give or take) to re-grip and re-shaft. 

 

if you really want to just get your current clubs re-shafted, you should go get properly fitted somewhere. may cost you a bit more but at least you know you are getting the right stuff. it is hard to play the guessing game

i would suggest getting fitted and seeing which shaft fits you.  You are guessing that you get alot of backspin but have nothing to prove that.  You could have a very low AoA and need a higher lofted driver, or maybe you need to adjust your stance to improve your AoA so that you are getting a higher ball flight out of those clubs.

 

I believe you should have 3000 or less RPM of backspin on your driver.  Getting a good fitting should allow you to bring the existing club into the store and compare it against other clubs. 

Also, consider a tune-up lesson. Make sure you don't have some minor swing or set-up flaw that's holding you back. Recommended sequence:

1. Stabilize your swing
2. Get fitted

The funny thing is you do not have bad swing speeds and carry distances. You are actually very close to me. My golf instructor told me that everyone wants a 280 carry, but the reality is most amateurs that are better than average are in this range. For me it's making contact with the sweet spot. My annoying flaw is that my 3W is 238 and my driver is 242. I've been trying to figure out another 10 yards on that driver for years...my pro told me, I hit it far enough to play virtually any course. Work on your short game and scoring clubs.

 

I also spin the ball off the driver much more. I'm in the lowest launch and lowest spin shafts and still get to 3200+. But when I keep the spin down I get that 250+ ball and it feels and looks great. 

 

But I agree with the guys above. Lessons and then a fitting. Shaft technology will break the bank and drive you crazy like it did with me. I've heard the OEM fitting guys speak and say they can fit all tour pro's into a combination of 4 shafts and it won't make a difference to them. 

 

I've heard teaching pro's say the stock shafts are fine for the majority of average Joe's.  

If your playing the ball back in your stance with woods your not going to get optimal launch conditions. Your basically squeezing the ball out with a low launch and spinning it in the air. You need to work on hitting the ball forward in your stance and with the driver have a neutral to slightly up AoA. That alone will knock a ton of spin off and get your ball higher in the air. You could gain 20-25 yards with this alone. After you feel comfortable with this swing your current clubs may be perfect but if not you can get fit for a proper swing and really maximize your potential. Good luck.
