How does Alavaro Quiros generate such distance/power?

I am always quite amazed by Quiros's swing.  Almost looks like he is taking a half-swing with the driver yet he bombs it further than just about anyone else.  Club barely reaches shoulder height.  It doesn't look like he has any exaggerated weight shift or anything else that would account for all that power.  Is it just lots of fast-twitch muscles in his forearms?  The guy is a mystery to me!

This was helpful to me. I took out of it that I don't have to make a really large turn, just get back to a comfortable position, the correct position. I do not have the flexibility to get a large turn. Interestingly, the range session yesterday supported this effort. Good ball striking and I must have been achieving good lag and release because the shots were going very far. Thanks for posting this. I'll need to get some video to see what that was all about.

Why do they call golf "golf"?  Because all the other four letter words were taken.

I got to watch him play in Qatar last year and he flat out hits it a ton and he doesn't look to really be trying at all except for the 655 yard par 5 9th that he went driver mid iron on to get home in two!!  Don't forget that he is a very tall (at least 6 ft 4 in) and lean guy and has a huge arch even though he only uses about 3/4 of it. Never seen anyone who looks like they are having more fun on the course than him.

It's all about his timing in bringing that power up from the ground and releasing it at the right time.
