I have a Sun Mountain.  Not sure what model but it's only a couple of years old.  It's a nice cart.  The only problem I had was the brake cable slipped out of the lock handle.  I guess the screw came loose or something.  It was so frayed that I couldn't put it back in.  I just fed some up from the wheel and adjusted everything as needed to get it long enough to cut a clean end off and thread back through.  The tire pump broke on the first use and was a pretty cheap POS.  Luckily I have a compressor in the garage.  Overall a nice cart, but I really don't think it's worth what they charge.  Works good for tying the dog to when I want to walk with her.

I think its awesome that they let dogs on the golf course.  I played in Austin, Tx at a muni last time I was down there and several people had dogs with them.  I can't fathom that being okay at the courses I play in Chicago.  I wish it was, I would probably be more inclined to bring my dogs with as its a great excuse for a walk, and they are great on the leash, so it would be no trouble to have them sit while I hit the ball.

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

Do you really believe that carts speed up the pace of play?  I guess it depends on the course, but if the course is well designed (the next tee is resonably close to previous green) I will argue that walking with golfers who play ready golf is faster.

I played a round last week and I rode (the cart was included in the price) and one of the golfers walked, at no point where we waiting on the walker (IE, he wasn't the reason we played slow) and to be honest, we played in 4.5 hours.

Got the cart yeaterday, really nice. It was hard to tell the size from the picture on Rockbottomsgolf.com, it is bigger than I thought it would be. But it looks good with my bag of clubs on it. Using it tomorrow (Saturday), everything looks and feels OK.

    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
    • Day 96 (18 Mar 24) - Continued work with the Divot Board with the GW and hard foam balls.  Focused on small target/small miss…setup to hit target about 30yds out - success if it hit within 6’ circle of target, fail if outside.  Had decent success averaging about 3 out of 4 (hitting in groups of four).
