It's a good statement on the competitiveness of the pros - they want to win, rather than the other guy fall down.  That said, I fully expected GM to make that birdie putt after missing it to get pushed into the playoff in the first place.

I love seeing that kind of stuff.  Total class.  (It wasn't actually that Webb's missed that bothered Graeme, it was that a huge gust of wind came up as it was passing the hole and carried it several feet past.  Graeme, Webb, and Feherty all implied that without that wind, the ball stops inside virtual tap in range and they're off to the second playoff hole.)

yeah, that's it.  You could hear Gmac comment about the gust as they shook hands.  He looked genuinely upset (both at his own miss, AND at Webb's misfortune)

I was surprised to see Webb Simpson opt for the long putter frequently when off the green. I wonder if these players get a case of the nerves around the greens like we do - they seem too young to have the Heebie-jeebies like we older players do.

Given the pressure and wind he probably felt it was the safest play.  I have to think the pressure of winning, plus the wind, the gallery watching, etc gives them their own version of the heebie-jeebies.
