What do you think of Mark Crossfield? - Page 5

His video on club face control changed my life. Nobody ever told me the clubface stays square to the body throughout the whole swing.

My swing and ball striking improved dramatically after I watched this video.

Mark Crossfield should be applauded for understanding and using the wealth if free social media we have and using it to reach a huge audience with honest free expert advice

Whether you like him or not I think he should be praised for that as he has spotted an opportunity and utilised it perfectly

I personally really like him - his reviews are honest and his instruction clear - he always encourages you to give things a go and try them for yourself and in an industry where the mags praise whatever comes out because they rely in the manufacturers for advertising income it's nice to have someone telling it as it is from his perspective

Top man

I haven't really watched his teaching videos. But I really like his club reviews. I think its cool hes not brand loyal and isn't trying to push everyone into buying new clubs every year. I also like that he compares models of the same manufacturer. Its funny how similar all the clubs actually are

I love his channels. Especially the course vlogs. Those are great entertainment!

His videos are pretty good. He's one of the better ones on youtube. I agree I do like when he video tapes him and his buddies playing golf. Seeing the courses they play at and the shenanigans they have is hilarious. I like when they were in Spain I think, on one of Jack's courses. they were doing challenges, closes to the hole from an insane chipping position. Mark definitely gets a bit amped up competing.

Other teachers deserve as much applause then.-Others spotted the opportunity before him. Heck you might not like Shawn Clement but he gets to say he's the #1 teacher on YouTube because he spotted it five years ago or whatever right after YouTUbe launched.

Sure - I've not seen any of Clements work but if he was using youtube too then it's all good

Plenty of room for free impartial golf advice in the market

The position Crossfield has established is that if you google pretty much any piece of golf kit and the word "review" then he'll be there

He also uses twitter and Facebook and has an app which enables you to send him a clip of your swing and he will try to assess it for you via a youtube clip

What's not to like?

Totally. Kinda gives you a golf fix when you can't play. The guy he was playing with in Spain that hits it a mile (Gorilla James) has his own channel too, which is pretty entertaining. No lessons or anything, just golf antics. This impressions video is so good lol

sorry a little OT

Stick around.-You'll find a lot to like here on this site if you like free information and very good videos and discussion on the golf swing.

Just giving credit where it's due - I came onto this website having searched for one of his reviews and found this thread

Felt compelled to contribute

Not that he's perfect - he can be a bit too non-committal his reviews IMO

I really like him... Watch him all the time :)

Not really a whole bunch to say about him, except that I really enjoy his videos and typically watch a bunch of them during the Spring and Summer. I find myself watching some of the videos the night before my early AM tee times as well. I have probably watched most of his club reviews too and allowed his insight to influence which clubs I've demoed and purchased. He gets an A+ from me. Let's get stuck in!

Love the other guys he hangs with, Gorilla James, Flower, etc.  Those guys are a riot.

I honestly love watching his videos on youtube..   it's easy to understand him and unlike a few video's i've come across, where its extremely windy or w/e and you cant hear the guy or girl trying to explain what is going on..

And i think is position of being no biased towards any one company is a real plus..    While i do like Michael Breed, its sometimes hard to follow him cuz he talks really fast...

but that being said, i do like watching Mark's videos on youtube cuz he basically does tackle all subjects..  and does give you his honest opinion.  Especially when it comes to new equipment and if its actually better than your old clubs or is actually going to help your game.

I like his videos a lot. I think it's pretty cool of him to invest the time and effort he does into putting those videos on Youtube for us to watch for free. I've watched a lot of his club reviews, but haven't seen any of his lessons. As far as his reviews go, I find them quite informative, though I do think he has a slight Mizuno bias but he admits it up front so you know what to expect. He does seem to do a good job of giving credit where credit is due though and doesn't let his bias rule over everything else. For example, one review I watched compared Vokey wedges to Mizuno wedges, and his data was giving him higher spin numbers with the Mizuno just about every time, yet he continued to hit the Vokey's almost seeming as if he was trying to force them to spin more to match the Mizuno data.

Despite his accent, I think his personality is fitting for what he does and his videos come across very entertaining and informative. I don't solely value his opinion more than everyone else's, but I can't knock a guy who offers his professional opinions and lessons to amateurs for free.

I've watched most of his his vids from this and last year. He is funny, knows his stuff and can hold his own on the course. I would rather less talk when he adresses the ball...hit then review.
