Taipei, Mar. 22, 2010 (CENS) – La\nch Technologies Co., a specialized maker of golf balls in Taiwan, will set up a new plant in the industrial processing zone in Pingtung, southern Taiwan, with the new plant to raise the company's annual output from the existing 7.5 million dozens of golf balls to 10-15 million dozens within three years, turning the firm into the world's largest golf ball subcontractor.

International Multitech Co. (AIT), one of Taiwan's leading golf equipment makers. AIT has been turning out mainly golf clubs and heads and about four years ago decided to diversify into golf balls, hence its setting up in 2006 a new plant nearby its headquarters in Tashu, Kaohsiung County, next to Pingtung.

Seeing growing demand for balls, AIT recently decided to invest US$10.94 million to set up a new golf ball plant in Pingtung's processing zone, also moving Launch into the zone as well. Initially Launch will add one more production line to raise golf ball output by 2.5 million dozens, with expansion perhaps scheduled for later depending on demand.

Insiders disclosed that Launch's net profit is usually 20%-25%, with annual revenues of about US$62.5 million per year. Its major clients include world-famous brands as TaylorMade, Callaway, Dick's, and Mizuno, with Callaway and TaylorMade placing annual orders of three million dozens and two million dozens, respectively.
