Hi guys Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between the project x 8b4 shaft and 8c4 shafts?? I've been looking at drivers and 3 woods on eBay so wanna make sure I understand the difference!! Thanks

I found such codes after hunting through the PX website for 15 minutes. Check out this link:

This model of shafts has five different shafts in the frequency 7.0 (X.stiff), two in 6.5, and one in 6.0.

Among 7.0 shafts, 84A would be an 83-gram version with an X-stiff tip, while 82A would be an 82-gram shaft with a Stiff tip. The 8 stands for weight, but I'm not sure what the 4 and A stand for.

This code appears on the shaft itself in bold letters.

You might call a clubsmith for details, or send an e-mail to PX. If PX responds, could you share the results?

Ok thanks for that info. I've tried my friends driver with the 7c3 shaft and hit it well! What should I be looking for then on a 3 wood and hybrid to hit similar to my friends driver?? Should it be same as driver or lighter but with same 6.0 frequency??? Thanks

So the difference is the 8b4 is a little heavier 83 vs 82 grams and a little stiffer 6.5 v. 6.0.

To swing the 6.5 stiffness effectively you probably need a club head speed with a min of 100 to 105 mph.
