Can anyone please tell me what the difference is between the project x 8b4 shaft and 8c4 shafts?? I've been looking at drivers and 3 woods on eBay so wanna make sure I understand the difference!!
I found such codes after hunting through the PX website for 15 minutes. Check out this link:
This model of shafts has five different shafts in the frequency 7.0 (X.stiff), two in 6.5, and one in 6.0.
Among 7.0 shafts, 84A would be an 83-gram version with an X-stiff tip, while 82A would be an 82-gram shaft with a Stiff tip. The 8 stands for weight, but I'm not sure what the 4 and A stand for.
This code appears on the shaft itself in bold letters.
You might call a clubsmith for details, or send an e-mail to PX. If PX responds, could you share the results?
So the difference is the 8b4 is a little heavier 83 vs 82 grams and a little stiffer 6.5 v. 6.0.
To swing the 6.5 stiffness effectively you probably need a club head speed with a min of 100 to 105 mph.
