Try and stop it when he's at impact. Look how open his hips are. The man was very flexible. I still think he was the greatest golfer ever to live. The reason is, just the fact that he only played in a handful of events all year, mostly the majors and some amateur events. Lets not forget, he was a lawyer by trade, and lived a life outside of golf. To say what he could have done if he was a full time golfer, dedicated 100% as a profession (sadly that was frowned upon back then, a lot of hustling professional golfers ;p) But his records in the majors is just crazy.

US OPEN, from 1922 till 1930, he finished 2nd 4 times, and won it 4 times

British Open, 1921 he famously withdrew from the event. When he returned and actually played he won 3 out of 3 times.

US Amateur, 1924 till 1930, wont it 5 times

He was 28 when he retired, 28, and his declining health caused him to have a shorten career.

Such an a crazy talent for golf.

What would Brandel Chamblee say about this swing?  Big over-the-top move on the full swing.  Putting stance very different than today's typical stance.  Great players can do anything and play well.

Chamblee doesn't know what he's talking about. Does Bobby loop the swing, yes, is it an over the top movie, NO. He comes form the inside. At 0:39 you can see were his elbow is very tucked to his side, his right shoulder is coming down under the plane, instead of across and towards the ball. This clearly shows that he strikes the ball with an inside to out swing path. The reason he has a loop in his swing is because he takes the club back way to the inside. Check out 1:22, you can see his hands stay close to his body, get depth, and his clubhead is inside the hands. He loops to a great swing plane, and strikes the ball form the inside.

Most amateurs who take the club inside loose it over the top because its a natural counter balance to the momentum of the club being off plane. A club outside the hands as a better chance of falling down onto the correct plane (Jim Furyk), than a person does if there golf club is inside the hands and has to loop upward, Bobby Jones. I might say Bobby Jones is the anti Furyk :p

Agreed.  But for the casual observer, the loop would look similar to an out-to-in/over the top move.  The greats were all so flexible.  The straight arm finish position is something I cannot do.

OTOH, he never played a single event where substantially all of the best players of his time were entered.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

    • We do not buy extended warranties. We will use one of our credit cards for the purchase that extends the warranty "x 2". Our thoughts are: a. if the item is a lemon, it will likely break right away and we can attempt to apply the original warranty or credit card extension. b. over the long haul, we will probably save more money by not purchasing the extended warranty and fixing/junking broken items out of our own pocket. The important thing is to keep some records of purchases so one may make a claim under the manufacturer's warranty. I recently sent back some Footjoy shoes for leaking and Footjoy did a reat job of making the claim process work very well. I had the original receipt, warrant info and box. Easy peasy.
