I have played golf before but I am now deciding to play it a lot more and I want to get my own set of clubs.

I am looking for a decent but not a too expensive set to start with...here are two that I am looking at.

Top Flite - http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=19465516&ab;=TopNav_Golf_MensGolfClubs_CompleteSets&cp;=4413989.4414118

Wilson - http://www.ebay.com/itm/WILSON-OPTIMAX-Complete-Right-Handed-Mens-Golf-Club-Set-w-Auto-Deploy-Stand-Bag-/390587144959?pt=Golf_Clubs&hash;=item5af0cedaff

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If you're looking to make it as easy as possible, you're doing the right thing by purchasing a complete set. Wilson makes a solid beginners set (my first set was Wilson and it was appropriate for several years). My only suggestion would be to invest in a putter (the putters that come with the entry level sets are garbage). Over time as you find it necessary, you can replace other clubs in your bag as well. The other route would take more effort... Go to your local golf shops and check out their used equipment. Sometimes you can put together a pretty nice set on the cheap. Good luck!

The wedges that come with the sets are also garbage. Find a good used Titleist Vokey 56 degree sand wedge and a 52 degree gap wedge. They will be the clubs you use most often. You can find both on ebay for around 50 bucks. Get the older version they are still great.

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
