To be blunt - I have been playing great golf over the last 4 rounds. A 79, 78, 80 and 82. My G.I.R and Fairways hit are up and everything has just been working.

Yesterday, I went out to the same course I shot 80 on two weeks ago, and shot a dirty ol' 92.

5 greens and 7 fairways.....

My driver was bad, my irons were all over the place ( including over shooting so many greens - hit my SW 145??!?!? and my PW 170?!?! )

My chipping was chunky, bunkers chunky and my putting TERRIBLE ( 35 putts )

I tried not to get down on myself, but there is nothing more frustrating than repeating the same mistake over and over - especially just when you think things are going in the right direction.

How do you deal with it? Should I go for a 3 hour range session, take a week off?

stop scoring, use it as a practice session, enjoy the day, hit extra balls if pace allows, try the freaky shots

it's still better than work and many other things

"hit my SW 145??!?!? and my PW 170?!?! "  this is a great problem to have - if you figure out how to replicate that swing, you can turn that into a whole new level of play (either back it down for more control, or leverage the extra distance....).  Good day to play with it.

I would love to do it on a regular basis

Maybe I will go play a quick 9 tonight and play with a couple of balls instead of just one

    • Day 35, June 8. Before leaving for work this morning (yes, I'm posting this quite late relative to the practice), I spent 15 minutes practicing at home, into a net.  This time, it was primarily 9-iron (full swings), with some UW (full and half) and a few 6-iron.
    • Day 73: just some mirror work today. Working on feels for being open and getting the front shoulder down.
    • I'm liking this. Finally getting down hands in front of my trail leg pocket consistently at A6 with much better clubhead position (relatively not as tipped out). I can really pressure the shaft through impact with good face control  from this position and stay in balance. Won my first one v one march 5&4 against a 4 hcp who routinely drives it 35-40 yards past me in the men's club match play . Frustrated him with some solid iron play and air tight putting.
    • Day 279 6-8  Worked on low point control skills work tonight. will be doing this for a few weeks. Tonight was just trying figure out how to get low point forward.  No ball.
    • Day 8 (Jun 8 26) - Stayed the drill but added two additional irons (7i, 8i and 9i) - using Divot Board and hard foam balls - focused on tempo and purposed pause at the top….noticing how open the club is marking the board when I try to kill it and how much more square (and better distance) when I focus on these keys.
