Okay, well... I'll not actually miss the putting, that's for sure!  This should definitely speed up play.  But I do hope they will come up with a simple way to determine closest to the pin for match play competitions.

 

Um...  You don't think they'll reduce "par" by 36 strokes now do you?

Putting is the strongest part of my game but this could still benefit me. I generally putt sub-30 (occasional much higher on a crap day) but if they drop par back by 36 strokes I think that is a net gain of +/- 6 stroke for me? Or maybe not, I've gone temporarily math dumb plus I'm cooking dinner so I can't really think about it. But hey, shit yeah, let's dump putting!
