But weather is not one of the "bad experiences" the USGA uses. Merion didn't have an Opne for 32 years because it was deemed too short for the modern game. That will be the determining factor as to whether they return again or not; not what happened to fall from the sky on June 13, 2013.

I mean, what - "Well we can't go back to Merion cuz it rained. And wasn't there a fog delay at Olympic? Strike them. And it's technically hurricane season, so forget any east coast sites. Tornadoes in the Midwest - Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri...your're out too. Tsunamis strike Hawaii, outta there. Earthquakes: there go the California courses."

Does Alaska have any Open-caliber courses?

SoCal has fires too.  There is no "safe" place.

You've just made me realize how unsafe the world is. I am never going back outside again! c2_beer.gif

Lemme tell you why I like living in South Florida. At least our natural disaster (hurricanes) announces itself.

I completely understand. I'm saying that this weather will leave a bad taste for people and subconsciously it will affect them when they decide again.

246 yard Par 3 into the wind uphill......................In the spirit of pace of play I would just skip the hole and write down a 12.

Seriously. I'm hitting 3 wood and hoping it gets to the 1st cut short of the green. What a monster of a hole.

I can't get the live feed at work.  Hope the weather holds until I get home to watch.

I'm aiming 40 yards left with my driver and intentionally slicing the hell out of it. I'd have to nail a 3-wood straight for that, but I can slice a driver 250 no problem.

Keegan really, really showing us what "grind" means when it comes to a US Open.  And not the good kind of grind.
