Hi there,

I'm new here and pretty new to club and I'm looking for some advice and expertise from you guys as I'm totally no idea what a good deal is for clubs.

I'm looking to buy the following and would like to know what I should expect to pay for such a set.

Callaway X Hot Driver

Callaway X Hot 3 Wood

Callaway X Hot 3 iron Hybrid

Callaway X Hot irons 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, PW, SW & LW

How much would I be expecting to pay?

Also would you say the Callaway X Hot LW is a better wedge than the Callaway Forged copper wedge?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice

Keith

If that's about $1,300 US, it sounds reasonable.

Yes it is pretty much bang on $1300 US when you convert it. Its the cheapest I found them on the internet in the UK, It's went from £933 all the way down to £829 so maybe that is the best I'm going to get was just checking in case you guys knew of something I didn't.

Didn't want to buy them then find out I could've got them for sub £800 if I'd only asked the experts.

Cheers Mr. Desmond I think I'll just go with that website and buy them

I'm not sure of your playing background. Are you new to golf this season, or just starting to play regularly after an introduction in previous years?

If you are just starting, have you had any lessons? Learning the basics can help most people improve quickly in golf.

Do you own any clubs right now? If so, what kind are they (model and shaft flex).

If you are going to get the Callaway XHot group or any other clubs, be sure you hit them first before you buy them. Have a local fitter do a static fitting to see if you need any tweaks to the clubs such as longer or shorter shafts, change to lie angle, or thicker grips.

Wedges: The best wedge is the one that feels best for you. Some golfers like the higher wedges (G, S and L) that come with an iron set. Others like the specialty wedges (ones not directly connected to iron set).

Focus, connect and follow through!

You asked about price, but I also agree with WUTiger.

I hope you've demoed them and were fit somewhere at a green grass or retail account before going to the web to find them.

Also, make certain they are authentic Callaway - lots of fakes going around - make certain the retailer is an authorized Callaway Dealer.

As to wedges, the XHots run strong to loft, so I'd seriously consider buying the gap wedge in that set (49 degrees of loft) and then a 56. I'd probably avoid the XHot Wedge as it may be a bit bulky. I'm not a big fan of the Callaway Forged - but I'd probably opt for the 56-11 - if you want Callaway set. The Callaway Forged will be more precise and direct in feel. Playing over there, my guess is you do a lot of bump and runs so a 60 LW is not mandatory. It depends on your level of skill.

Callaway is a good brand, so they aren't cheap. You get what you pay for. However I absolutely LOVE my irons. Dropped 5 strokes immediately. Getting the driver soon.

I have the x hot driver, 3w, 3h, 4h, and 5h and love them all.  I don't have to swing hard to get good distance.  I'd recommend these clubs.

Mike

Ping G30 Driver
x hot 3 wood
x hot 3, 4, 5 hybrids
Callaway XR irons
Cleveland RTX 54 and 58 wedges
Edel E-3 Torque balanced putter
