Warranty on shaft break?

Well, about a month ago I picked up a new TaylorMade RBZ Stage II driver brand new from Dick's. Fast forward to today, and the shaft broke as the hosel .

Besides a couple paint chips missing from the club rolling on concrete after the break, it looks pretty clear that the club was not misused.

What's the protocol on this?

Take it back! They should give you a new driver. Just make sure you bring the receipt.

Yeah, I gotta find that...if not, I think they can look it up, or it's on my advantage count.

I bought a Nike VR Pro last summer on clearance at Dick's.  The shaft broke at the hosel two weeks ago.

I went to Dick's and asked the pro there to help me work with Nike to get it fixed.

He got on the phone with Nike right away and did everything for me. He didn't even ask for proof I bought it there.

They'll fix it free and work it through Dick's.

I'd expect you would get the same service.

Good to hear. I was thinking I needed to go out and buy a new shaft. This is great news.

Ya I can recall, about 10 years ago. I had a brand new Taylormade driver. It broke at the hosel. And it was replaced with a brand new one, from the retailer I bought it from. They should give you a new one on the spot, and they will deal with returning it to Taylormade for RMA.

I wish. Returned it and have been waiting to hear back. Driverless for the time being.

Good luck - it only took about a week for mine, couldn't be happier with it.

Thanks. Hopefully I get a replacement and not just a reshaft, head got a couple dings on it after flying through the air.

I got a reshaft only.  They recycled the same grip, apparently.  same head, same fittings.  But the shaft was a clear upgrade to a nicer type (maybe I got lucky, it clearly was a better fit to my swing).

i would have made that known at the time of purchase.  I don't think it is unfair to ask that they provide a replacement head considering it is less than a month old and the original was damaged as a result of the club failure.

I tried my best. I was dealing with a kid and manager that didn't really seem to know what they were doing. The manager did claim that he's seen an unusually high number of TM shaft breaks this year.

A buddy of mine recently broke the shaft off at the hosel on his 3 day old Adams driver.   He was leaving the next day for a two week vacation, so I don't know if he has gotten a resolution to that yet but I hope Golfsmith exchanges the driver and deals with Adams themselves.
