I am looking at dropping my GI Adams A1's with graphite shafts for a more controlable club with a less than shovel looking head. I hate the shovel look of the GI clubs, but I am not a good enough ball striker to use blades. Would the PI5's be a good compromise or should I just stick with GI?

The Pi5 is pretty much a blade with a undercut/cavity on the back of it. There's some forgiveness but like over muscle-cavities not too much. Its still possible to hit some horrendous shots with them. I'd would be borderline on whether I recommend them to some one with a mid handicap unless they had a genuine desire to play/practice more.

Yea I am pretty serious about it. I practice about 2 times a week now and play at least once a week. Come school time I will live within 5 mins of a golf course and will be taking lessons at least once a week and be playing at least once a week. I feel that the GI irons are really covering up problems in my swing rather than fixing them.

I say, go for it then! Beautiful clubs from address and not too shabby front on either

Yea my decision rests between these and the Adams IDEA Pros. Not sure which one I am going to get yet!

If you're stuck between the two then I reckon you have to think carefully about how good a ball striker you want to become. The Adams seem to be much more forgiving club and will be able to deal much better with your off days. I remember I was pretty shocked the first time I looked down at the Pi5 and saw this tiny little head on what was supposedly a slightly forgiving club.

Yea I decided it was a bit much for me. The adams gave me everything I wanted, a soft forging, traditional look, and some forgivness.
