G25's or Cobra Amp Cell Irons - Page 2

Slightly OT but I tried the Cobra Tour Rusty wedges last night. Very impressive. I don't need wedges and I dang near brought them home. Really like the sole design. Leading edge is nice low opened up, flops were easy to hit off the firm mat in the sim at PGA SS. Looked and performed like a custom wedge. Would be a great complement for the AMP Cell irons.

Well, I couldn't convince myself to spend $900 on a set of irons. I decided to go a completely different way, I purchased the Cobra AMP Cell irons in silver, steel shaft.

I know, I know, was this a wise move, I guess only time will tell but here is what happened. I was at the range and guy I was next to had a set of Cobra AMP Cell iron. We got to talking and he let me try the irons. Now as everyone knows hitting at a range is not like hitting in the store. I hit the Cobras nicely in the store, but I killed them on the range. Distance, ball flight, the feel of the ball off the club face, etc., etc. was really good. So I got to thinking, why am I paying $900 when I can spend $500 for a really nice set of irons? I also thought I already have a set of Pings.

I wonder how many other people get their heart set on one set of irons only to wait a month and then go a completely different way?

You won't be disappointed I don't think. Then you can take that $400 savings and celebrate your low round. ENJOY! They really are some great irons....and purty too. a1_smile.gif
