Since hitting golf balls regularly for the first time for the last couple of months i have noticed that i consistently slice the ball. Initially my drives were fairly straight but the last several times I have played a round of hit at the driving range it has been more duck hooks than anything. Wedges and 9 iron are fairly straight but 6-8 all hook fairly regularly. I took some videos and then stills of those videos and am trying to see what is mechanically wrong with my swing causing me to hook so often. I have been trying to force my hips to slide forward and not let my hands go in front and occasionally will overcompensate and slice. I have 2 videos, one of 8 iron and the other with driver with full speed swings followed by the swing in slow motion and then stills of at the top of the swing and right before and after impact. Any analysis or advice is greatly appreciated!!

try a drill known as towel under both armpits and start by hitting short irons and build up to driver. This will help you get on a better swing plane and stay more connected. good luck!

Dont try to consciously try to square the face at impact. this mindset is keeping you from lagging properly and slicing the ball instead. You said that you also ocassionally hook it with this swing, I presume it is because of that out to in movement. Try to rotate your lower body when you start the downswing and let the weight of the club roll over your arms naturally. Just my two cents. Your swing looks to have a lot of potential though :)

I am not a pro or nothing and you may have a better swing than me already but I agree with this. Your right arm definitely seems to get too far away from your body in you downswing. Your head also looks pretty tucked in but maybe mine is just too up lol.
