Just need something for full swing distance? What other wedges do you have?

I have a PW, 50, 52, 56, and 60, but the 56 is never in my bag, and the 50 never gets used.

I bought a 50* simply because it "fits" in my overall wedge selection. PW=45, GW=50, SW=55, LW=60. I've got a consistent 5* gap. I believe your selection should not be based on a single club, but how you chose to build your "set" of wedges.

What's the loft of your PW?

Looking at Titleist Vokeys so thats not an option

Why just Vokey's? Is that what your other wedges are?

And 51* is certainly an option. Just get that 50* bent 1 degree weaker.

Sure it is. I bent a 50* wedge to 51*. An added benefit was an additional degree of bounce..... With your strong PW though, you'll likely want a 50* GW. My personal preference is more than 8* of bounce......

Keep in mind that a gap wedge is just that: a wedge designed to fill the gap between pitching wedges and sand wedges. Don't get caught up on loft; it's only one variable that affects the distance of the shot. I would say get a 50* or 52* with as much bounce as you can, and see if it fills the gap. If not, have a golf shop bend it a degree or two so that your shots fill that gap.

@FloppedBalls

I too have a 45* PW.  After that my wedges are 50*, 54*, 58*.

I really the 50* around the greens as well, though a 52* would work just as well.

What's in the Bag:
Driver: Taylormade SLDR 12*
3-wood: Taylormade Burner 15*
Hybrid: Taylormade Burner 19*
Irons: Callaway XR

Wedges: Vokey 50*, 54*, 58*
Putter: Scotty Newport Studio

Is the 54 your sand wedge? What are the respective bounces?

IMHO, this poll is useless as the loft of PW will dictate what it should be.

I have PW that is 48*, so my other wedges are 52, 56 and 60.  If I had 45 like you do, I would put 50, 54, and 58.

    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
    • Not sure this is the best thread but, if the rain holds off, today is my 1st round of the year.  Getting ready I can not find my Shot Scope.  I guess I put it away too well for the winter and thus that is may "Winter Depression".  I'm sure I put it somewhere that made sense at the time.
