Lee Westwood working with Sean Foley

I don't think it can be a bad idea. It looks like it has worked for Rose, Mahan and of course Tiger. These 3 have all been playing well under tutelage of Sean so Lee is probably making a good move.

It can't hurt because his game seems to have taken a step back of late and at 40 he needs to turn it around sooner than later. I'm not sure if it will show positive results this week as it takes time but you never know. Sometimes with a ball striker like Lee it just takes a little confidence building!!

Think this is a little short sighted. It's not only his putting.

Think it's more a mental thing.

Because on average he plays paydays over par.

clearly he isn't the best putter.

Haven't really paid attention to Westy this year but looks like he's really sucking. Check out his 2011 and 2012 stats and they're much better, especially in GIR which is the one that really matters. But he's consistently outside the top-125 in strokes-gained putting.

I hope this works out well for Westwood and Sean.  Westwood has always been a great ballstriker so I am sure Sean won't do much to change what he is already doing.  A few minor tweaks here or there will probably be the objective.  Maybe Sean will help Westwood with the ability to hit a couple different ball flights that he can add to his ballstriking arsenal.

I do however agree with the previous comments on Wesetwood's putting.  It's not only his putting but his short game play around the greens.  It's hard to have good putting stats when you aren't chipping or pitching it close to the hole.  Sean can probably give some guidance in that area as well.

I saw that too and it just continues to suggest Chamblee might be a bitter man. He talked about how Westwood is too old to change his swing. Who told him Westwood is going for a swing overhaul. Talked about how Butch and Haney both have students with more majors than Foley, well that hardly a letdown for Foley all things considered. One of his student has the most wins on Tour, and another just won his first Major.

I really wish someone would debate him over his half-baked thoughts. If I had his record on tour, I definitely wouldn't sound so pompous. There are 24 yr olds achieving what he couldn't achieve in a fraction of the time he spent on tour

Nothing against Foley, he's obviously great. It's just that ball striking isn't Westwood's historical weakness (though he's way off this year for sure) so we're wondering if his priorities are a little off.
