It actually plays over 400 from the white tees and is very uphill the entire way. The better players I have played with there told me they go two clubs up on their approach shot.

I do respect your opinion and see where you are coming from but I don't think I will move up to senior tees just because of this one hole. (Or are you saying move to senior only when playing this hole?)

The frustrating thing is, the 50-60 percent of drives that I hit straight are always over 270 and often in then 280-300 range.

During the summer I get about 195 from my 5 iron. Now in the winter months about 185.

Got it.  Nope, you certainly have plenty of length for those tees....hell, you're a lot longer than I am.

The issue really isn't one of course management.  With that length, you need to get your ball striking in order so you can play longer clubs without the worry of knocking them OB too often, and you're absolutely right......even very good players knock 'em out occassionally.  But even on a long tough hole, you should be able to at least hit the green within a stroke of regulation when you are in the fairway.

;) I would sacrifice distance any day of the week for being able to consistently put my driver and / or fairway wood in the fairway or even playable rough! lol.

You are absolutely right. The much bigger issue here is my ball striking, but while I'm working on that, I will try your advice next time!
