I am currently using "Shotly" (formerly Caddie) on my Windows phone but lately is has been crashing a lot.  Does anyone know of any other good apps for the Windows phone.

Thanks

You can use Golflogix on the windows phone. I like it because you can keep track of your distance with each shot. I have a better idea now on how far with each club.

I don't have a windows phone so I can't confirm that GolfLogix is indeed available to you, but if it is I would HIGHLY recommend it.  The distance feature is only available if you spend the $19.99 (maybe $29.99, not sure) for the championship features.  You get GPS, score card, and a few other features though for free.  It's great for your everyday practice rounds, and you may be able to use it in tournaments if they allow it.  I've never had a problem despite it being on my cell phone, pretty sure that's against the rules though!

well it was slightly off topic, my reasoning is I see people stumbling around between golf shots, head covers and Iphones further slowing down the game.

I feel you...I use GolfLogix and have the champsionship features and all and still don't have all my club distances tracked for this reason. If I have time to input the distances I will but if I feel like I may be slowing down anyone behind me then I use it strickly for distance.

Several have been mentioned.  I have used Golflogix before just to see what it was like.  Be careful however, many tournaments that allow Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) do not allow use of apps on smartphones for distance measuring.

    • Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.
    • I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
