How many out there travel for work?  Do you travel domestically, internationally?  How often do you travel?

What are your thoughts on business travel?  Do you bring your clubs with you when you travel?

In my bag:

some golf clubs

a few golf balls

a bag of tee's some already broken the rest soon to be

a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

When I was hired the person who hired me told me that I would have a similar situation.  I would leave on Monday morning, and fly home around noon on Thursday.  It was domestic travel only.

That was 9 months ago.  I have been to China 2x, Brazil 3x, Prague, London, Mexico 4x and I think 2 or 3 cities in the US.

P.S. if you are interested in a playing partner for a Friday afternoon round, I have family in Orlando and we visit approx. twice a year.  They live in Hunters Creek.

First let me start off with saying I don't take my clubs, they wouldn't be much help unless I wanted to practice my bunker shots. And now to answer the question on if I travel for work...do business trips to Afghanistan count? All joking aside, I'm currently serving in the Air Force so yes travel is part of my job, and when I do travel golf is not even on my mind (sadly).

I travel a fair bit, more before I got married and had a kid. Probably 1 week a month. 70/30 so mostly international. Asia mostly, but occasionally Europe. I have yet to take my clubs on a trip but I have played in China, Taiwan, Japan and the UK renting clubs. If the trip is domestic it is generally in and out so rarely time for golf. I would love to play more on trips.

Don't travel much anymore - but do commute from Virginia to Ohio on a regular basis.  When I did travel it was frequently project work - so several weeks or months in one location.  If that was the case I'd often bring a spare set of clubs ( ) and leave them there for the duration.  Fortunately a lot of my travel was up north (upstate New York and Minnesota) during the summer which meant lots of nice summer evenings with long days.

Now, with my commute, I usually drive (6-7 hours) so I can bring my bike and clubs with me.  I have an apartment in OH so lots of room to store things.

My job requires A LOT of travel. It's only domestic travel and for the most part stays in the Northeast region. A lot of the time, I catch a Sunday night or really early Monday morning flight, and I'm there until Friday evening when I fly back home. The typical job lasts 4 weeks long. I haven't yet taken my clubs on a business flight. Sometimes the jobs are close enough to drive and for that I have a company car and always throw my clubs in the trunk.

So, on average, I'm home 8 days a month. Really frustrating when you have to pay Northern Virginia rent rates and essentially not even live there. For instance, we have a special training going on right now in Ohio that lasts about 60 days. So I'll be paying two months worth of rent back home (over $1k each month) and never set foot in the place.

I travel quite a bit for work.  A few times a month - typically domestically here on the Westcoast.  I travel to Taiwan where our factory is occasionally... Two or Three times a year for a week at a time too. Unfortunately I never get to take my golf clubs on these trips.

It's kind of strange, I've been in sales since 2000... And I've played golf with clients ~ a dozen times during that length of time.  Unfortunately, not a lot of people that I've worked with play golf.
