PGM PGA accredited schools vs non accredited

I am considering going to college through a pgm program. I'm going to be a Senior in high school this fall and and still looking at the different colleges. I live in Pennsylvania so I would prefer to go to a school in PA. I've looked into Penn State but I know it is a competitive program to get into. I looked online and read that Cal U also has a PGM program but it is not PGA accredited. So I'm wondering if its worth applying to Cal U if I don't get into Penn State, or would I be better off applying to an out of state school that is PGA accredited.

I'm fairly certain you'll want the PGA certification. It's kind of the whole point.

Go with an accredited program, even one that's out of state.

IF you want to work as a golf professional, you may have to "leave the nest" to go where the jobs are. You need to get out of that high school mindset.  Sooner or later, you have to grow up.

My reasons for wanting to stay in PA is because it is cheaper to go to a school in state. I am fully aware that I may have to leave PA in search of a job. One of my main reasons for choosing this career path is wanting to be in other parts of the US other than the northeast

Then make Penn State your number 1, but find other out-of-state, PGM-accredited schools to apply to. No real point to apply to a school that is out-of-state and unaccredited if those are your criteria.
