Hunched over lead to bad ball striking?

I recently looked at my swing on video and noticed that I was somewhat hunched over when compared to the "perfect swing" and was hanging back. I really struggle to get on top of the ball and take a divot after the ball, it's not because I don't try to but that I'm physically unable to. Can standing a tad more upright help me get on top of the ball and stop hanging back? All input is appreciated, thanks.

Yeah not too many guys in the hall of fame that have "straight backs" at address, like zero ;-)

It's not that I'm hunched over via my back, but my butt is popped out a little too far and it looks like I am.

Yeah that can get the weight too much on the heels and force you to make some compensations.

I also tend to strike it off the toe quite a bit, would my weight being on the heels lead to this as well?

It could, depends on how you compensate, there are a variety of reasons for a toe strike.  Getting the weight more balanced can't hurt
